About The Position

The Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing category strategies that drive growth, profitability, and market share in Walmart and Sam’s Club. This role involves deep analysis of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive activity to optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies. The Category Manager collaborates closely with sales, marketing, R&D, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in category management, insights, trade marketing, or brand management in the food or CPG industry.
  • Walmart experience is required.
  • Strong expertise and proficiency with Scintilla database.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools like Nielsen/IRI, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Be the category advisor to Walmart.
  • Partner with sales teams to develop customer-specific category plans and presentations.
  • Using Scintilla data, develop and implement category strategies based on market insights, business goals, and monitor competitor activity to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and turn data into decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage product performance, including portfolio optimization, SKU rationalization, new item launches, and innovation planning.
  • Drive growth by leading category management initiatives, and pricing, promotion, placement strategies to maximize category performance.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership.
