About The Position

McKesson Medical-Surgical, a $10B division of a global healthcare leader, is seeking a Category Manager – Vaccines & Pharmaceutical Products to drive strategy and performance across a key portion of our Rx portfolio. In this role, you will own category strategy, supplier relationships, and financial performance for assigned vaccine categories, including routine and travel vaccines. You will partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Pricing, and Supply Chain to deliver revenue growth and margin expansion. This is a high-impact, highly collaborative role that blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience in category management, procurement, strategic sourcing, or related analytical business function
  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, modeling, and business case development
  • Experience managing supplier/vendor relationships and contract negotiations
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)

  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, or medical products
  • Experience managing product category P&L or portfolio performance

Responsibilities

  • Own category strategy and execution for designated vaccine portfolios, with accountability for revenue growth and margin performance
  • Develop and implement pricing, product assortment, and go-to-market strategies in partnership with Sales and Marketing
  • Lead supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, performance management, and strategic alignment
  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate opportunities, inform decisions, and support negotiations
  • Analyze market trends, customer demand, and competitive dynamics to shape category strategy
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing insights and communicating category performance to internal stakeholders
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to drive execution of category initiatives
