About The Position

As Category Manager, Home Computing & Entertainment, you will lead category strategy, financial performance, and team development across a dynamic portfolio of technology and entertainment‑related products that enhance how customers work, learn, connect, and enjoy entertainment at home. This is a leadership role requiring someone who can develop strategic category plans, build and mentor buying teams, and partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve financial objectives and enhance the customer shopping experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading retail categories with a track record of driving sales growth, margin improvement, and inventory performance
  • Strong category and product knowledge, with an understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics
  • Solid financial acumen, including experience managing category P&L, Open‑to‑Buy, pricing, and promotions
  • Demonstrated success negotiating with vendors and building effective, long‑term partnerships
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with comfort engaging and influencing senior leadership
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate category vision into clear, executable plans

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in home computing, consumer electronics, or related categories
  • Cross‑functional collaboration with Merchandise Planning, Pricing, Space Planning, Marketing, and Supply Chain
  • Comfort working with retail analytics and data‑driven insights to support decision‑making
  • Experience within a multi‑store retail environment and exposure to both bricks‑and‑mortar and e‑commerce

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of Buyers responsible for category performance, assortments, and vendor management
  • Set performance objectives, support development, and build strong merchandising and financial capability
  • Develop and execute category strategies that drive sales, margin, and competitive differentiation
  • Own category P&L, Open‑to‑Buy budgets, pricing strategies, and promotional investment
  • Analyze trends, customer insights, and performance to identify growth and optimization opportunities
  • Build strategic relationships with key vendors and brand partners
  • Negotiate agreements including cost structures, promotional funding, and program support
  • Attend major trade shows and industry events to stay current on industry trends, emerging brands, and new product opportunities
  • Establish assortment and brand strategies aligned to customer needs and financial goals
  • Partner with Space Planning, Marketing, Pricing, Supply Chain, and Store Operations to ensure strong execution
  • Influence senior leadership through data‑driven recommendations and clear communication
