About The Position

Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) – Business Services is seeking a strategic and results‑driven Category Manager with deep IT procurement experience and the versatility to support a broad range of sourcing indirect service categories. This role is critical to shaping and executing sourcing strategies that enable IT innovation while also providing agile support across additional functional disciplines within GCF. With guidance from GCF Business Services leadership, you will apply strong sourcing, contracting, and supplier management expertise to initiatives ranging from short‑term projects to complex, year-long strategic efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, and/or contract management
  • Significant IT procurement experience strongly preferred and essential for success
  • Ability to flex into additional categories beyond IT and support diverse business needs
  • Experience leading and participating in cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated proficiency in contract review and negotiation
  • Strong attention to detail with a process‑driven mindset
  • Strength in data analysis, problem solving, and strategic thinking

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary sourcing expert for IT categories, leveraging technical knowledge and IT procurement experience to secure best‑in-class solutions, services, and value.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to negotiate and contract for services and solutions that optimize price, delivery, and service levels, following GCF’s Global Sourcing processes.
  • Lead and/or support conventional and complex contract negotiations across IT and additional assigned categories such as HR, legal, marketing, and financial advisory services, .
  • Develop, refine, and negotiate strong contractual language to manage risk and support evolving business needs.
  • Influence and drive organizational change through strong communication, interpersonal skills, and stakeholder partnership.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with internal IT leaders as well as cross‑functional teams.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and supplier capabilities to inform category strategies.
  • Use data, analytics, and reporting to identify cost savings, operational efficiencies, and best‑practice opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through disciplined, strategic sourcing processes.
  • Manage multiple projects with competing priorities across IT and broader organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with support functions to ensure strategies and agreements align with business goals and financial objectives.
  • Evaluate spend data to identify and pursue savings opportunities, efficiency improvements, and supplier diversity growth.
