About The Position

This PRN (as needed) role involves organizing pre-operative charts according to hospital policy and physicians' orders, interviewing patients, communicating findings to anesthesia, and assisting with the coordination of surgical scheduling to enhance efficiency. The functions of the position include overseeing intake with an initial physical assessment and patient interview to obtain medical history, organizing pre-operative charts, educating patients on surgical preparation, expectations, and post-surgical care plans.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current NC license as a Registered Nurse
• Current BLS certification
• At least three (3) years of recent perioperative or five (5) years of Med-Surg experience

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience as a Discharge Planning Nurse or Utilization Review Nurse
