About The Position

As a CT Technologist at Bethesda North Hospital, under the direction of the Radiologist and the supervision of the manager or supervisor, you will perform computed tomography procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury while producing high-quality diagnostic images using proper technique and established protocols. This role requires the use of independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to support accurate diagnosis and demonstrates competency in areas including identification of pathology, interventional biopsies, 3‑D reconstruction, patient positioning, contrast administration, IV access, and implementation of new protocols. Responsibilities include orienting new staff, troubleshooting equipment, ensuring patient and public safety, maintaining accurate records, assisting in student education, properly using and caring for CT equipment, working effectively with patients and families to provide compassionate care, maintaining cooperative relationships with interdepartmental team members, complying with infection prevention standards, performing X‑ray exams at designated locations as needed, meeting continuing education requirements established by the ARRT and the State of Ohio, and completing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Allied Health (Required)
  • Graduate of an approved technical, professional ,or vocational program (Required)
  • Knowledge of Cross Sectional Anatomy, Venipuncture, radiation safety procedures
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • ARRT - Computed Tomography within 2 Yrs (Required)
  • Required to meet the minimum continuing educational requirements established by the state of Ohio and is required to maintain ARRT and ODH licensure (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Selects proper imaging protocols, parameters based on clinical history and follows departmental procedures.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members.
  • Consistently produce and evaluate CTs for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Maintains accurate records through the completion of all paperwork.
  • Provides for patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after a procedure.
  • Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergent situations.
