Responsible for the safe manipulation of radiographic and computerized tomographical radiological equipment, positioning patients, selection of the technical factors necessary to produce optimum quality radiographic and CT images. Responsible for the tracking of each study and the PACS acquisition of the study performed, properly uses radiation protection devices, cares for patients while performing Radiologic/CT exams, provides procedural care and education for patients, and maintains records and documentation for procedures and the maintenance of the equipment and certifications.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program
  • A.R.R.T. registered in Radiology
  • State licensed in radiology by the LSRT
  • Current BLS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages
  • Possess strong guest relations skills

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in a CT department with multi-slice technology
  • CT registry
