About The Position

Organizes, supervises and monitors all departmental procedures and equipment in the CT Department. This role involves performing procedures in spiral CT on inpatients and outpatients, assisting with staff scheduling and daily operations, and developing policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory agencies. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, JCAHO Standards, and other hospital-determined standards, as well as maintaining documentation for compliance. Additionally, this role involves developing and coordinating monthly in-services, instructing other technologists in new procedures, and performing annual competencies for all CT staff. Daily equipment quality control, including performing and documenting QA procedures, and procuring repairs as needed, are also key responsibilities. The position requires explaining procedures to patients and medical personnel to ensure cooperation, the ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays, and tracking patients and studies using Epic Radiant RIS.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA approved School
  • ARRT(CT) certification required
  • BA required within 1 year of date of hire
  • ARRT(CT)
  • At least three years broad experience as a CT Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Performs procedures in spiral CT
  • Performs technical aspects of spiral CT on inpatients and outpatients per established procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in staff scheduling and other daily operations
  • Develop policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Is responsible for Assuring compliance with federal and state regulations, JCAHO Standards, and all other standards determined to the hospital to be desirable. Assures documentation of data relevant to this compliance is complete.
  • Develop and coordinate monthly in‐service.
  • Responsible for instructing other technologists in new procedures instituted in the Department.
  • Responsible for performing annual competencies to all CT Staff
  • Daily equipment quality control
  • Perform daily and quarterly Q.A. procedures on equipment and maintain records of same.
  • Maintain equipment and procure repairs, as needed.
  • Explain procedures to patients, medical personnel and others so as to ensure cooperation in scheduling and performance of procedures
  • Track patients and studies utilizing Epic Radiant RIS.
