About The Position

H.O. Penn Machinery is seeking a motivated and results-driven CAT Rental Sales Representative for their Bronx, NY location. This outside sales position offers a competitive OTE of $85,000 for the first year, including a base salary of up to $55,000 (based on experience) and uncapped commission potential. The company provides guaranteed pre-paid commission during the ramp period, up to $30,000 annually, in addition to base pay, to ensure early success and income stability. Long-term income growth is tied directly to territory performance. H.O. Penn invests heavily in new sales professionals to support their development and build their book of business. The territory for this role is Brooklyn.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of equipment rental business, (experience within rental sales highly preferred)
  • Ability to prospect and cultivate new accounts – strong business development skills
  • Strong organizational experience to manage leads, customer information, and sales records effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers
  • PC Proficient, (including high proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office and other software)
  • Good influencing skills and economically motivated
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for travel
  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Hand coordination for typing, writing, and computer use
  • Occasional forward bending and reaching
  • Occasional walking and climbing stairs
  • Carrying (up to 20lbs.)

Responsibilities

  • Achievement of overall branch goals through promotion of profitable rental of Cat & Allied equipment, and sales of Allied equipment in the assigned sales territory
  • Continually identify and contact new and existing customers in the assigned territory to influence their buying and rental decision making consistent with the H.O. Penn Cat Rental Store's business goals
  • Provide high quality and cost-effective coverage of the assigned territory, including servicing of existing accounts and developing new accounts within the various market segments represented in the territory
  • Effectively use all selling tools, including the telephone, computer, software, wireless communications and other means to promote the features, benefits and overall value of Caterpillar and allied equipment and the total product and service offerings at the H.O. Penn Cat Rental Store
  • Work collaboratively with other sales & rental team members, including Inside Sales Reps and Rental Coordinators, to accurately and efficiently process rental and sales orders, address customer concerns and maximize rental and sales business and growth
  • Effective and efficient management and development of the assigned rental & sales territory, contributing to the achievement of branch goals
  • Work cooperatively with other Rental & Sales Reps, to maximize geographic sales coverage
  • Maintain accurate data on the activities of customers within the territory and communicate all relevant information to other members of the H.O. Penn Cat Rental Store Rental & Sales team
  • Maximize the H.O. Penn Cat Rental Store's share of the total rental business of each existing customer
  • Develop, maintain and communicate a comprehensive awareness of the state of the construction industry as well as all competitive activity within the territory effectively utilizing Dodge and other marketing reports and data
  • Become an integral part of the customer's business, represent the customer's need to H.O. Penn and seek solutions consistent with H.O. Penn's mission and goals
  • Work closely with other members of H.O. Penn's team to maximize customer service
  • Continuously develop product/industry knowledge and business acumen
