About The Position

This role involves learning to review and analyze insurance policies to confirm coverage for assigned claims. The trainee will investigate, evaluate, and adjust claims, potentially assisting Casualty Claims Representatives with physical damage, total loss, med pay, and bodily injury claims. A key focus is on maintaining high customer satisfaction through professionalism, integrity, fairness, and promptness, while also meeting productivity targets and claims handling cycle times. Continuous job skill development through training is essential, as is maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. The position requires organizational skills, knowledge of office procedures, and the ability to operate standard office equipment. Self-motivation, initiative, decision-making ability, and flexibility to respond to unexpected situations are also important. The role may involve occasional travel for investigations, conferences, training, and meetings, with extensive travel by automobile within an assigned territory.

Requirements

  • Must have a 4-year college degree; or 2+ years of college and 1+ years of work experience in property and casualty insurance experience.
  • The employee is expected to begin the introduction to INS Series within 1 year of hiring date.
  • Must be able to read, analyze and interpret procedures, regulations, instructions, manuals and other documents as required.
  • Excellent telephone, public relations and oral/written communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Must possess basic skills and be proficient or have demonstrated aptitude with computers including experience with Excel, Word, and web-based systems.
  • Must be able to read, analyze and interpret procedures, regulations, instructions, manuals and other documents as required.
  • Excellent telephone, public relations and oral/written communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
