About The Position

Kean Miller is seeking a Lateral/Experienced Associate to join our Casualty and Mass Tort Litigation Practice Group in our Houston or Baton Rouge office. This role involves working closely with partners on all aspects of litigation, including investigations, case reporting, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation. The associate will manage a caseload independently, handle court appearances and depositions, lead client communication, and provide regular updates. The position requires excellent academic credentials, strong research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills, with the ability and desire to interact directly with clients and develop client relationships.

Requirements

Minimum five (5) years general litigation experience.
Excellent academic credentials.
Strong research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills.
Ability and desire to interact directly with Kean Miller’s clients.
Ability to independently manage a caseload from beginning to end.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good standing with the TX and LA State Bar.

Responsibilities

Work hand in hand with partners on all phases of litigation, from rapid response investigations, case reporting, discovery, and depositions, through trial preparation.
Independently manage a caseload from beginning to end.
Regularly handle court appearances and depositions.
Take the lead with client communication.
Provide meaningful updates to clients.
Interact directly with Kean Miller’s clients.
Further develop client and referral relationships.
