About The Position

Kean Miller is seeking an experienced Casualty and Mass Tort Legal Secretary to join their team in Baton Rouge. This is a 100% in-office position. Kean Miller serves as legal counsel to the people and industries that drive the energy-belt economy, with over 240 attorneys and eight office locations in Louisiana and Texas. They provide efficient legal services and practical advice to Fortune 500 companies, national businesses, and local companies in a cost-efficient manner.

Requirements

• Skilled typist with excellent grammar and writing abilities
• Familiar with federal and state filing procedures
• Experience with a document management system
• Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• High proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management system
• Must be able to multi-task and successfully manage a variety of demands daily

Nice To Haves

• Prior maritime experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Typing emails, letters, correspondence pleadings
• E-File court filings
• Maintain and track schedules and calendars
• Arrange meetings and conference calls
• Open new matters
• Run conflict checks
• Maintain an electronic and paper filing system
• Input time into billing software
• Transcribe dictation
