Casualty Adjuster - Out of Territory
About The Position
This role involves investigating, analyzing, evaluating, and settling insurance claims that include liability issues, auto physical damage losses, and bodily injury losses. These claims will arise outside of Shelter's operating territory, including those for AmShield Insurance Company. The position requires performing complete liability, coverage, auto physical damage, and bodily injury investigations. Key responsibilities include determining the validity of claims, verifying coverage, establishing the value of losses, and negotiating settlements within the limits of authority, all while adhering to established procedures and legal/contractual obligations. The role also involves coordinating the claims handling of multiple adjusters, including independent adjusters.
Requirements
- Investigative, analytical, organizational and decision-making skills
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Superior skills in negotiation, communication and customer service
- Ability to learn through on-the-job training/training courses and obtain multi state licensing
- Strong skills in technology
- Ability to acquire and maintain adjuster state licensing where required
- Efficient in time management to maintain schedules and deadlines
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation
Responsibilities
- Investigate, analyze, evaluate and settle insurance claims involving liability issues, auto physical damage losses and bodily injury losses arising outside of Shelter's operating territory, including AmShield Insurance Company.
- Perform complete liability, coverage, auto physical damage and bodily injury investigations.
- Determine validity of claims, verify coverage, establishe value of losses and negotiate settlements within limits of authority, consistent with established procedures and legal and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate claims handling of multiple adjusters, including independent adjusters.
