This is a part-time, casual position within the AMG Wautoma Front End Staff department. The primary role of the PSR (Patient Service Representative) is to create the initial electronic health record, ensuring accuracy and preventing duplicates. This role involves patient check-in, registration, verification of demographic and insurance information, and collection of co-pays. Maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA is crucial. The PSR must understand insurance basics, AAH contracts, and financial obligations, referring patients to Financial Advocates when necessary. They also ensure compliance with various government regulations and obtain necessary signatures. Additionally, the role may involve scheduling appointments, providing patient information, performing visit closure, and educating patients on the patient portal. The PSR is responsible for creating a welcoming environment, managing phone calls, and maintaining public relations. They may also assist with e-scanning, faxes, in-basket messages, and work queues, and potentially assist with orientation and training.
