Casual Operator, Highway Maintenance (Class 1/3)
About The Position
Ledcor Highways Ltd. is offering winter casual road maintenance opportunities across Alberta from October 1st to April 30th. We are seeking enthusiastic, team-oriented individuals to help keep Alberta’s highways safe. You will be responsible for winter maintenance of Alberta highways, using various trucks and heavy equipment.
Requirements
- Successful completion pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Class 1, 2 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
- Clear 3-year driver’s abstract
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset, training provided
Responsibilities
- Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
- Maintain Alberta Provincial Highways including assisting with Labourer duties (crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
- Be available for on call work to assist with weather events, emergencies and staff coverage as needed
- Work outside in all weather conditions
