About The Position
Reporting to the Supervisor, Roadway Operations - Engineering and Operations Department, the incumbent will perform work that is physically strenuous in nature and involves the use of hand tools and/or manually operated equipment. Assignments will require the operation of Municipal vehicles. The incumbent may work under supervision and receive daily instruction.
Requirements
- Secondary education (Grade 12 G.E.D. is acceptable).
- Valid NB Class 3 driver’s license required.
- A clear Driver’s Abstract is required as condition of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Loader operating experience is considered an asset.
- Tandem Truck operating experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Performs work related to the construction and maintenance of streets, curbs, sidewalks, and storm sewer utilities.
- Working around heavy equipment, interacting with public, working in traffic.
- Performs related work as required.
- Must be available to work after hours and shifts as required.
- Material handling with loader and tandem truck.
