About The Position

The incumbent will perform physically strenuous work involving the use of hand tools and/or manually operated equipment, as well as the operation of Municipal vehicles. Assignments may require working under supervision and receiving daily instructions. The role is focused on the construction and maintenance of streets, curbs, sidewalks, and storm sewer utilities, often involving work around heavy equipment, interaction with the public, and working in traffic. The position requires the ability to work after hours and willingness to work shifts as required.

Requirements

Secondary education (Grade 12 G.E.D. is acceptable).
Valid NB Class 5 driver’s license required.
A clear Driver’s Abstract is required as condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

Valid NB Class 3 driver’s license would be considered an asset.
Ability to follow instructions accurately as issued by a Foreman or Supervisor.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary in work assignments.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Ability to perform well as an individual and as well on a team ranging in size.
