About The Position

The Casual Labourer - Facilities position is a temporary full-time role, expected to last approximately from September 2026 to May 2027. The position is based at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre and involves maintenance and repairs to various buildings and structures, with a specific focus on external building repairs, drywall repairs, and painting. The role reports directly to the Facilities Supervisors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid full class G Driver’s License and a clean driving record
• Ability to work in a variety of conditions and perform physical labour
• Experience in building maintenance and repairs
• Candidates are required to have their own safety boots.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check

Nice To Haves

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Customer service experience
• General knowledge of plumbing and electrical an asset
• Pool and custodial experience considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Operating city vehicles and equipment as required.
• Operating various construction equipment and machinery.
• Maintain building cleanliness and sanitation including lobbies, washrooms, hallways, meeting rooms and the outside perimeter of the building(s).
• Operating non-power tools (i.e., hand saw, bolt cutters etc.)
• Performs preventive building maintenance duties such as drywall, plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Repair holes in walls and paint interior and exterior walls.
• Work independently and as a part of a team.
• Undertake other duties as assigned, in support of the City and Departmental objectives.
