About The Position

NorQuest College is seeking an Instructor for their Advanced Foot Care (AFC) post-diploma certificate program within the School of Applied Health Sciences. The AFC program provides nurses with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills for safe, evidence-informed foot care. The program includes asynchronous online modules, in-person labs, and supervised clinical placements. This role primarily focuses on clinical practicum teaching, involving direct supervision of learners in community and clinical settings. Clinical practicums are typically 2-3 days in the Edmonton region. Opportunities to contribute to theory or lab instruction may also be available based on instructor expertise. The college fosters a collaborative academic community dedicated to student and colleague success.

Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Active nursing licensure with CLHA or CRNA with Advanced Foot Care Practice Authorization
  • Recent experience in advanced foot care nursing practice
  • A Police Information Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Search within the last thirty (30) days

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite clinical supervision, coaching, and assessment to learners during advanced foot care placements.
  • Support students in applying advanced foot care theory, assessment skills, and evidence-based practices in real-world settings.
  • Maintain clear, timely documentation of learner progress, competencies, and clinical performance.
  • Collaborate with clinical partners to ensure safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environments.
  • Deliver instruction in lab or theory settings and adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs.
  • Integrate demonstrations, supervised practice, and simulation-based learning into instructional activities.
  • Foster professional, inclusive communication and strong relationships with students, staff, and patients.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement, including the use of learning management systems and instructional design tools.
