This frontline position requires open availability and involves working at multiple locations with various teams of practitioners in Group Home or Community Access settings to support clients. While shift days and locations will vary, the expectation is that you will support the individuals assigned to you for the duration of the shift. You will receive the same training as regular staff and be provided with information and directions for the individuals you will be supporting. The Group Living Department has 11 different locations across the city. When working in the Community Access Location, you could be supporting individuals at main facilities, in their homes, or in the community, engaging in various activities. The diagnoses and limitations of the individuals you support will vary, including conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, dementia, schizophrenia, OCD, and mobility issues. With a passion for helping others, you will support individuals based on their individualized plans.
