About The Position

The YMCA of the National Capital Region is seeking a Casual After School Program (ASP) Facilitator to join their service delivery team. This role is responsible for maintaining high-quality programming by creating an educational, inclusive, and energetic environment for children. The facilitator will implement skill-building activities for older children and provide direct support to the Site Coordinator in daily program operations under the oversight of the Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) After School Program Manager. The position requires safe supervision of children in accordance with provincial policies and YMCA philosophy, acting as a professional and courteous representative of the YMCA to parents, school stakeholders, and the public, and serving as a role model exemplifying YMCA core values.

Requirements

• Fluent in English, oral and written
• Member in good standing of the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario, as required
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children
• High level of interpersonal and written skills
• Sound knowledge of school-age child development (ages 3–12), with an emphasis on physical literacy, social-emotional regulation, and executive functioning
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR "C" certification
• Valid permit to work in Canada
• Police Record check, not more than 6 months old
• Semi-annual completion of mandatory training for the protection of Children & Youth and submission of the certificate of completion.

Nice To Haves

• A diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child and Youth Care (CYC), or a related field (or recognized equivalency) is a significant asset.
