They serve customers in aerospace and defense, earthworks, energy, general engineering, and transportation. The Castings Utility Operator position is located in Bedford, PA, and operates on the 1st shift from 7 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. This role involves performing a variety of operations and duties within the Castings operation, including primary daily assignments and covering for absent co-workers.

Requirements

A high school diploma or general equivalence diploma.
Completion of basic math, blueprint reading and gage reading training.
A forklift operator’s license.
The ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisor and co-workers.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-operation checks for machines.
Perform safety inspections required for individual machines and associated equipment.
Preheat and close molds.
Assist in all phases of pouring molten metal into molds.
Operate shake-out and shot blast machines.
Separate castings, break up molds, and saw as necessary.
Inspect, grind, and finish castings.
Return sand and flask equipment to the molding area.
Cut, grind and shape rise sleeves.
Load and unload trucks.
Fill in for absent molders.
Inspect and gauge produced parts to blueprint specifications.
Process shop orders to meet established due dates.
Responsible for cycle counts and management of WIP and components.
Participate in lean events and utilize lean processes in daily duties.
Perform daily required TPM or associated equipment.
Perform daily 5S activities for work area.
Perform daily activities associated with gathering and posting established metrics.
Accurate and timely recording of required data.
