Boom is building supersonic jet engines out of nickel superalloys and is bringing casting capability in-house. This role will be a key participant during the commissioning of the new casting capability and will lead the hands-on portion of the first pour. Unlike a traditional foundry job where procedures and equipment are already established, this position offers the unique opportunity to influence the casting unit from its conceptual stage. The technician will be involved in reviewing equipment specifications and cell layouts, identifying safety and process issues before implementation, managing utility tie-ins, rigging furnaces, and developing the initial melt procedures. Subsequently, they will perform the first heats, directly shaping the operational methodology of the unit.
