CASTING TECHNICIAN - Plant 10
About The Position
The Casting Technician operates vacuum melting equipment at Howmet Aerospace’s Plant 10 Whitehall Casting Operation. The position works an off shift, with availability required for second shift, third shift, and weekend crew. Duties include equipment troubleshooting and repair, minor maintenance, furnace component replacement, and preparation of the furnace for the following shift. The technician follows detailed, controlled work instructions, maintains accurate logs, checks furnace fluid levels, and performs housekeeping and cleaning tasks. The role also requires compliance with all applicable EHS rules and other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- At least two years of work experience, or six months of continuous manufacturing experience.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required at hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.
- Must be available to work off shift, including second shift, third shift, and weekend crew.

- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous casting experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate vacuum melting equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs.
- Work to detailed and controlled work instructions.
- Execute minor maintenance.
- Repair and replace furnace components.
- Check and maintain furnace fluid levels.
- Prepare and set up the furnace for the following shift.
- Perform housekeeping to keep machines and the work area clean.
- Sweep and mop the work area.
- Scrape and clean mold and melt chambers of furnaces.
- Comply with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
