About The Position

This position combines deep technical expertise in casting facility design, process design and equipment operation with strong program leadership. The ideal candidate will drive end-to-end manufacturing readiness, from concept and equipment specification through commissioning, ramp-up, and full production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in die casting, with significant exposure to large structural or giga castings.
  • Proven technical background on high-pressure die casting process, equipment design, specification, and operation.
  • Strong electrical, automation, mechanical and hydraulic background.
  • Proven track record in launching new automotive programs with casting products.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.

  • Ability to work in a production setting and aid in troubleshooting of supplier equipment and processes.
  • Ability to address a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end industrialization of structural casting processes from concept to Start of Production.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) with Product and Tooling Engineering to enable part consolidation and structural performance.
  • Collaborate with machine OEMs and system integrators on equipment design, layout, and integration.
  • Lead launch and operation of casting cells to ensure stable, high-quality production to achieve part quality specifications and program production rate.
  • Establish standards for machine setup, parameter control, and preventive maintenance.
  • Lead detailed facility layout, cell and equipment design from concept stage, including all technical aspects of the equipment such as mechanical design, electrical, software, automation, safety and operation.
  • Define, monitor and optimize key process metrics.
  • Act as a technical leader across Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal cross functional teams for successful program development.
  • Develop internal expertise in casting technologies and equipment operation.
  • Enforce compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
