About The Position

This role is a member of the Operations Team, responsible for building relationships with direct reports, removing barriers to employee success, and coaching employees to achieve company goals. The position involves creating and reinforcing clear workplace expectations, actively following up with employees to guide their efforts, and coaching continuous performance improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency using Behavioral Management Techniques (BMT). The supervisor ensures schedules are followed, assists in keeping operations running, assigns manpower, ensures safe working practices, and aids in training.

Requirements

  • Strong supervisory experience; industrial or production type setting
  • Relationship building experience.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude of electrical / machine environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with urgency
  • Supervisory experience or equivalent.
  • Business PC skills

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of experience in production with time spent in supervisor role.
  • Melt shop / melt factory experience
  • Leadership training
  • Post High School or vocational education.
  • Bachelor Arts or Science

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Cast Shop production staff including disciplinary issues, scheduling work, and troubleshooting.
  • Complete Leader Standard Work Sheets Daily (LSW).
  • Work with maintenance supervisor and planner on repairs needed in Cast Shop.
  • Order tools and parts as needed.
  • Observe performance and hold regular, daily conversations to engage employees on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Be present and visible to production operators, listening to and following up on employee input regarding barriers.
  • Provide regular, ongoing feedback to employees regarding their work performance using Revere safety, quality, and productivity and attendance data.
  • Take ownership of workplace issues and challenges regarding direct reports and communicate with others as needed to address and resolve.
  • Ensure effective shift-to-shift communications for safety, equipment status, staffing, and end-of-shift report out.
  • Uphold the Collective Bargaining Agreement, follow and apply all workplace policies and Human Resource procedures, and consult HR on issues as needed.
  • Perform hands-on tasks to further the safety and quality of the process.
  • Assist crew members with troubleshooting machine issues and providing appropriate resources for production.
  • Resolve issues with absences, vacations, etc.
  • Communicate with other departmental supervisors, employees from other departments, and occasional vendor representatives.
  • Continuously take leadership actions to create a safe workplace culture by engaging direct reports in local safety meetings, safety action plans, and safety report follow-up.
  • Continuously take leadership actions to apply Revere’s process control procedures including the implementation of deviation procedures.
  • Train and coach employees to documented work methods and conduct job instruction breakdown (JIB) observations to reinforce work methods and provide feedback.
  • Follow Reliability and Maintenance roles and responsibilities, including work requests for equipment, and follow-up to provide needed resources.
  • Reinforce Operator Basic Care principles.
