About The Position

The Cashier position at Carriage Crossing is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing sales transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store. This role involves direct customer interaction, cash handling, supporting community programs, and assisting with store operations and merchandising.

Requirements

Ability to greet customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner.
Proficiency in operating a POS system.
Skills in accurate cash handling and processing transactions.
Understanding of coupon and discount processing.
Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization of store areas.
Knowledge of safety practices and equipment handling.
Willingness to assist with training new employees.
Adherence to company policies and procedures.
Ability to follow good safety practices and report hazards.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Memphis Goodwill's "Change Round-up" program.
Experience in merchandising and stock rotation.
Familiarity with Guiding Principles.

Responsibilities

Greeting customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner, offering assistance.
Operating the POS system for accurate sales data, price, and information codes.
Ensuring proper cash handling of all transactions, including coupons and discounts.
Promoting the "Change Round-up" program to support the mission of Memphis Goodwill.
Maintaining cleanliness of front doors, counters, glass, cases, and the front of the store.
Returning shopping carts, baskets, and unsold merchandise to appropriate areas.
Assisting with promotions, customer information, postings, and special sign displays.
Stocking and maintaining counter, showcases, and cash/wraps in a neat and clean condition.
Working safely, adhering to proper handling of material movement equipment, and reporting safety hazards.
Assisting in training new cashiers.
Cleaning dressing rooms and re-hanging clothes.
Placing apparel, wares, shoes, accessories, etc., on the sales floor in the correct location and rotating merchandise.
Adhering to all Memphis Goodwill policies and procedures, including safety practices and reporting hazards/injuries.
Adhering to policies regarding theft, pilferage, and handling of cash receipts.
Performing assigned duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
Potentially participating in activities outside of Goodwill.
Attending in-service and related training as assigned.
Performing other duties as assigned.
