About The Position

The Cashier checks out customers’ merchandise through POS registers and performs customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and warmly and handling merchandise with care. The role supports a pleasant, productive shopping experience by staying knowledgeable about products and advertised sales, assisting customers with purchase decisions and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. The Cashier also stocks and straightens nearby shelves and pegs when not ringing up merchandise. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly, professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.

Responsibilities

• Approach customers in a friendly, outgoing manner and remain knowledgeable about products and advertised sales.

• Identify and evaluate customer needs and make product recommendations.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
