About The Position

This position is for a Part-Time Cashier at a grocery store in Edinburg, TX. The primary purpose of the role is to provide friendly, efficient, and accurate service to customers while processing transactions, maintaining the checkout area, and supporting overall store operations. The role is focused on learning POS systems, basic procedures, and customer service, with limited or no prior experience required. The cashier will be developing speed in basic procedures and customer service and needs good communication skills.

Requirements

Basic math skills.

Ability to operate a cash register and other point-of-sale equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Texas Alcohol Food Beverage Commission(TABC) certification

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service.
Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
Issue receipts and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Bag or package customer purchases as needed.
Answer customer inquiries and provide assistance with product selection.
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
Stock and replenish supplies at the checkout counter.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and security.
Assist with other store tasks as assigned, such as stocking shelves or cleaning.
Resolve customer complaints and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Promote store promotions and loyalty programs.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
