About The Position
At Fleet Farm, providing the best customer service is the priority. Cashiers provide customers with a friendly and efficient checkout experience by processing transactions and following policies and procedures to reduce shrink. The role involves greeting and engaging customers, operating checkout equipment, handling payment, and promoting company programs and initiatives. The position requires a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of basic cash-handling procedures, including simple math.
- Friendly, self-motivated, and dependable approach to serving customers.
- Enjoy working with people and be outgoing and engaging.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous retail experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customers with a quick and efficient checkout experience.
- Operate the cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, and bag merchandise.
- Greet and engage customers in a friendly manner throughout the transaction.
- Process and handle cash, checks, gift cards, and credit or debit card transactions.
- Offer the Extended Protection Policy for qualifying items.
- Maintain brand standards in the front-end area and on the sales floor.
- Promote Fleet Farm's customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.
- Follow policies and procedures to reduce shrink.
