About The Position

As a Cashier at The Home Depot, you will be a key part of the customer experience, ensuring smooth and accurate transactions. You will greet customers, process their purchases efficiently, and promote additional services to meet their needs. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. You will also be responsible for maintaining safety and security standards on the front end.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of retail or cash handling experience is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Customer focus skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Cash handling skills.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.

Responsibilities

  • Greet each customer, engage them during the transaction, and thank them for their business using the GET Involved approach.
  • Process transactions accurately and timely by executing the GET checkout process.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of products and services and make appropriate suggestions to meet customer needs.
  • Treat all customers and associates in a sincere, appreciative manner.
  • Minimize time in the checkout line and acknowledge waiting customers.
  • Promote and recommend services such as Credit, Extended Warranty, Tool Rental, and Pro Services.
  • Follow all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
  • Follow processes on the front-end designed to mitigate shrink and protect assets.
