About The Position

Piazza's Fine Foods, an upscale, family-owned grocery store, is seeking part-time checkers for its grocery department. The Checker will operate the cash register and check stand to provide customers with the most accurate and efficient checkout service possible, and to perform stocking and other duties as assigned. This role requires award-winning customer service skills and may involve cleaning bathrooms and taking out trash.

Requirements

• Maintain positive working relationships with management and coworkers.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Understand and follow directions in oral, written, or diagram form.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, bend, reach, twist, and turn for up to 4 hours continuously.
• Must have full availability to work on weekends and holidays.
• Availability on the weekends is required.
• Must be 18 years old and up.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and check stand to provide efficient and accurate checkout service.
• Stock shelves, which may include facing products and putting out new products.
• Learn and memorize various store codes and keep up to date on new products.
• Assist in training new checkers as needed.
• Cleaning bathrooms and taking out trash.
