About The Position
The Cashier position is responsible for greeting guests with a positive attitude, taking orders, preparing orders when applicable, and handling all cash, credit, and comp procedures accurately. This role involves utilizing proper procedures and documentation for transactions, ensuring the bank is counted and balanced, and completing necessary paperwork. The Cashier must possess complete knowledge of all job-related procedures, treat guests promptly and courteously, and know menu items and prices. Proficiency in operating the Micros system for ringing up and closing out checks is essential. The position also requires upholding standards through appearance and work ethic, maintaining a clean and sanitary work area, and prioritizing safety and accident prevention. The Cashier must comply with all departmental rules, sidework assignments, and procedures, and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff.
- Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to understand the concept of cash handling, making change and counting it back to customers.
- Requires communicating by telephone.
- Requires regular, predictable attendance.
- Ability to communicate with Team members and guests.
- Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
- Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, reaching, & lifting.
Responsibilities
- Greets every guest with a smile and positive attitude.
- Takes orders from guests and prepares orders when applicable.
- Responsible for correctly handling cash, credit and comp procedures and properly completing paperwork.
- Utilize proper procedures and documentation for transactions.
- Ensure bank is counted and balanced with cage.
- Complete cash turn-in sheets, etc. and distribute appropriately.
- Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job.
- Ensures that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
- Knows the menu items and prices.
- Knows how to operate the Micros system in order to properly ring up and close out checks.
- Upholds standards by setting examples with appearance and work ethic.
- Works to ensure a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
- Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, performing all job duties in the safest possible manner, and immediately notifying the supervisor and completing an accident report if a personal accident does occur.
- Performs other duties specified or assigned.
- Complies with all departmental rules, sidework assignments, and departmental procedures.
