About The Position

As a Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you serve as a customer-facing representative, processing orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently while providing prompt, friendly service and supporting customer satisfaction. You handle cash, credit and debit payments, and change; provide product information and directions; and help resolve customer complaints. The role also involves following front-end procedures, stocking and facing shelves, dusting as needed, maintaining knowledge of weekly advertisements and store events, and communicating with the front-end manager and Head Cashier. You are responsible for keeping checkout areas clean and orderly and performing other related duties as assigned.

The position is in a fast-paced grocery retail setting. Work schedules are flexible and may change with business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The role includes repetitive activities, multitasking, and physical tasks involving lifting and moving products and grocery carts.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Have 1–2 years of recent cashiering experience.
• Demonstrate outgoing, friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers.
• Be able to operate front-end equipment, including a register, calculator, and scanner.
• Be dependable and reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have good communication skills, be able to take direction and constructive criticism, and participate in a team environment.
• Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Be able to lift and carry products weighing up to 30 pounds horizontally or vertically from 36 inches to 24 inches, for up to 3 feet and up to 50 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Be able to use both hands to move grocery carts horizontally with a force of up to 35 pounds, for up to 4 feet and up to 50 hours.
• Have strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, cash-handling and mathematical skills, and the ability to read, write, and count.
