Cashier
About The Position
The Cashier is the customer-facing representative of Sprouts Farmers Market, processing customer orders quickly, accurately, and efficiently while providing prompt, friendly service and supporting customer satisfaction. The role involves handling cash and credit/debit payments, making change, sharing product and store information, and helping resolve customer complaints. Cashiers follow front-end procedures, assist with stocking and facing shelves, and keep checkout areas clean and orderly. They maintain knowledge of weekly advertised items and store events, direct customers to products, communicate with the Front End Manager and Head Cashier, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have 1–2 years of recent cashiering experience.
- Demonstrate outgoing, friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers.
- Be able to operate front-end equipment, including a register, calculator, and scanner.
- Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes with business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Have good communication skills, be able to take direction and constructive criticism, and participate in a team environment.
- Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
- Be able to lift or carry product weighing up to 30 pounds as described in the posting, without mechanical assistance.
- Be able to move grocery carts with both hands as described in the posting.
- Have strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, cash-handling and mathematical skills, and the ability to read, write, and count.
Responsibilities

- Handle customer cash and credit/debit payments accurately and provide correct change.
- Provide customers with information and assist in resolving complaints.
- Follow front-end procedures.
- Assist with stocking shelves, facing products, and dusting as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of weekly ad items, store events, and seminars.
- Direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
- Maintain communication with the Front End Manager and Head Cashier.
- Keep checkout areas clean and orderly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
