About The Position

At Wegmans, cashiers help ensure customers end their shopping trips with a positive experience. The role provides proactive customer service in traditional checkout and self-checkout lanes, helping create lasting impressions and turn first-time shoppers into loyal customers. The position is part time and pays $16.50–$17 per hour. Availability is required for mornings, afternoons, and evenings, including weekends. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The work location is 945 Fairmount Ave. WE, Jamestown, NY 14701.

Responsibilities

Engage customers in friendly conversation, make eye contact, smile, proactively offer assistance, and thank customers for shopping at Wegmans.
Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments at the register.
Bag items appropriately so products arrive in the condition they left the store.
Manage traffic flow in the self-checkout area and direct customers to available lanes.
Ensure self-checkout lanes are in good working order and assist customers with system troubleshooting.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
