About The Position

At Mother’s Market, the Cashier provides fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service while helping customers find products. The role suits someone who enjoys interacting with customers, values teamwork, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Cashiers also help maintain store cleanliness, organization, stocking, merchandising, and safety standards. The hourly pay range is $16.90–$19.80.

Requirements

Previous customer service experience; cashiering experience is a plus.
Basic math skills and attention to detail.
Comfort using computerized register systems.
Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
Friendly, dependable, and approachable attitude.
Ability to multitask and remain accurate in a busy environment.
Willingness to support the team wherever needed.
Eagerness to learn product knowledge and assist customers confidently.
Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
Frequent use of touchscreen registers and scanners.
Ability to push and pull products across the scanner and handle cash.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, squat, reach overhead, and climb ladders.
Ability to answer phones and engage with customers face-to-face.
Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Greet customers with a warm and welcoming attitude.
Accurately ring up purchases using computerized registers.
Bag groceries carefully while considering customer preferences.
Memorize product codes for produce and bulk items.
Keep the checkout station clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift.
Help with store upkeep when not checking out customers, including cleaning, stocking, and facing shelves.
Help customers locate products and answer questions.
Take special orders and follow up with department managers.
Ensure price accuracy and report discrepancies on shelf tags.
Support store safety, cleanliness, and merchandising standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Lead Cashier.
