About The Position

This position is responsible for properly ringing up students during meal times and managing all aspects of running the cash registers, including understanding the components of a reimbursable meal. The Cashier works as a member of the Food Service Team.

Requirements

Must be able to work under crowded and increased noise level conditions.
Must have a fun-loving disposition and interact well with children.
Must be willing and able to relocate to different schools when occasion warrants.
Must complete a 10-hour sanitation course once hired.
Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Must possess mathematical ability.
Must be able to work banquets and events.

Responsibilities

Set up serving lines with all products per map sheet.
Responsible for free and reduced meals, prepaid, and cash paying customers.
Assess meals quickly for the type of meal to be charged.
Count drawers if assigned and deposit money in the bank.
Complete job with or without a computer system.
Knowledge of proper serving temperatures and portion sizes.
Provides suggestions for improving food quality and general operation of the food service program.
May be responsible for counting money in drawers.
Assist with putting stock away, labeling, dating, and rotating using the FIFO (first in, first out) method.
Cleans line after service and will restock line items in between meals.
Assists in the dish room.
May be responsible for taking temperatures and documenting before each meal service.
Completes log accounts.
Runs daily reports and may be responsible for bank deposits.
Completes sanitation of kitchen equipment and area daily.
Assist with function set up.
Reports all malfunctions to the school manager.
Cleans scanner weekly.
Assist in general cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen area.
Make daily and weekly inspections of kitchen conditions in order to maintain high standards of sanitation and safety.
