About The Position

The Cashier is responsible to receive and process payment for services rendered or parts/materials purchased. He/She explains vehicle service recommendations to customers, prints out and writes up estimates and invoices, and accepts payment in cash or through the use of electronic point-of-sale equipment and credit/debit payment media. The Cashier records the payment amount and closes repair orders in the computer system. The Cashier must operate specific software programs to keep track of customer data such as service history, parts purchased, and/or contact information. He/She may need to calculate materials charges, repair charges, and taxes -- and must understand various types of warranties.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
A minimum of one-year of money-handling experience
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
An affinity for math

Greet customers in a friendly and appreciative fashion
Answer telephone inquiries and route calls quickly and efficiently
Receive and process payment for products and services using electronic point-of-sale processing equipment
Process credit and debit transactions, checks, and other forms of payment
Operate system software to accurately maintain customer data
Encourage repeat business by acknowledging the customer's purchase with gratitude
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
Perform other duties as assigned
