About The Position

Position is responsible for properly ringing up students during meal time and everything that goes with running the cash registers � including knowing what makes up a reimbursable meal. Works as a member of the Food Service Team.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work under crowded and increased noise level conditions.
  • Must have a fun-loving disposition and interact well with children.
  • Must be willing and able to relocate to different schools when occasion warrants.
  • Must complete 10-hour sanitation course once hired.
  • Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instruction.
  • Must possess mathematical ability.
  • Must be able to work banquets and events.
  • The employee is required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • The employee must be able to work and stand up to 6 hours.
  • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle, as to operate office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally is required to lift up to 50 pounds such as boxes of books and paper materials.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up serving lines with all products per map sheet.
  • Responsible for free and reduced meals, prepaid, and cash paying customers.
  • Will take responsibility of the register, must be able to assess meals quickly for type of meal to be charged.
  • Counts drawers if assigned and deposit money in bank.
  • Must be able to complete job with or without computer system.
  • Must have knowledge of proper serving temps and portion sizes.
  • Provides suggestions for improving food quality and general operation of the food service program.
  • May be responsible for counting money in drawers.
  • Will also assist with putting stock away labeling, dating, and rotating using the FIFO (first in, first out method.
  • Cleans line after service, will restock line items in between meals.
  • Assists in dish room.
  • May be responsible for taking temps and documenting before each meal service.
  • Completes log accounts.
  • Runs daily reports and may be responsible for bank deposits.
  • Completes sanitation of kitchen equipment and area daily.
  • Assist with function set up.
  • Reports all malfunctions to the school manager.
  • Cleans scanner weekly.
  • Assist in general cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen area.
  • Make daily and weekly inspections of kitchen conditions in order to maintain high standards of sanitation and safety.
