About The Position

Responsible for enacting cash and credit card transactions for menu items purchased by guests throughout the daily restaurant serving hours. This role involves greeting guests, taking and repeating food orders, accurately charging prices, handling payments, and providing correct change. The Cashier must be knowledgeable about the menu and prices, interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner, and be able to efficiently correct guest orders. They also need to identify counterfeit money, verify age for alcohol service, and ensure guest satisfaction. Maintaining a neat appearance, clean work area, and proper hygiene are essential. The role also supports the company's mission, values, and vision, adheres to safety and security procedures, maintains confidentiality of guest information, and contributes to a respectful work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Prior experience in related to cashier or food service positions.
  • Valid ServSafe® or other approved Food Handler Certification.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.
  • Ability to properly charge the correct price for food and drink item ordered in an effective, professional manner.
  • Ability to operate a POS.
  • Ability to operate credit card equipment.
  • Ability to interact with guests effectively.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Maintain composure when dealing with staff and occasionally under conditions of urgency and/or pressure situations.
  • Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe.
  • Must be of legal age according to State regulations to serve alcohol.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures as directed by the Restaurant Manager.
  • Ability to be aware of and follow company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations.

  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 lbs or less.

Responsibilities

  • Enact cash and credit card transactions for menu items.
  • Greet guests and receive food orders.
  • Repeat food orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Charge the appropriate price for each menu item.
  • Receive the correct amount tendered by guests and provide the correct change.
  • Enact gift cards requested by guests.
  • Be familiar with and up to date with the restaurant’s menu and prices.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner.
  • Make corrections to guest orders in a fast and efficient manner.
  • Determine counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money.
  • Verify age requirements prior to serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction.
  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform.
  • Maintain well-groomed hair and personal hygiene.
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times.
  • Clean and maintain equipment used.
  • Complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
