About The Position

TJ Maxx is seeking Cashiers with open availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and some weekends. Shift times can range from 8 AM to 11 PM, especially during holiday recruiting hours. This role offers an opportunity for career growth by delivering a highly satisfied customer experience through engaging interactions, embodying customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The Cashier adheres to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role models positive customer experience practices, supports a positive store culture with honesty, integrity, and respect, and accurately handles customer transactions and loyalty program promotions. The Cashier maintains merchandising standards, processes merchandise for the sales floor, and participates in store recovery and maintenance. They also provide and accept feedback, adhere to labor laws and policies, and support shrink reduction and safety awareness goals. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.

  • Accurately ringing customer purchases/returns and counting change back to the customer.
  • Promoting credit and loyalty programs.
  • Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and following established merchandising procedures and standards.
  • Accurately processing and preparing merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures and standards.
  • Initiating and participating in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
  • Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participating in the maintenance/cleanliness of the entire store.
  • Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback.
  • Adhering to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
  • Participating in safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment.
