About The Position

The Cashier handles register transactions involving merchandise sales and returns. The role also provides customer service, assists shoppers with product knowledge and store navigation, supports merchandise pricing and stocking, and maintains a neat and well-stocked front end. The Cashier is expected to incorporate Ace Retail Group’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.
Ability to exhibit and incorporate the company’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.

Nice To Haves

Cashier experience preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Represent Westlake Ace Hardware positively and greet customers throughout the store.
Thank departing customers by name when possible and maintain a friendly, outgoing demeanor with customers and associates.
Keep checkout lines moving quickly and efficiently.
Answer and monitor calls and pages promptly, courteously, and effectively; communicate issues requiring management assistance.
Build product knowledge and help customers find products and navigate the store.
Assist with pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging merchandise.
Follow cash register transaction procedures and balance the register drawer.
Implement applicable Store Support Center programs or promotions at the registers.
Participate in store and cashier meetings.
Keep checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean; face and dust the front end.
Stock and face impulse counters, rotate seasonal merchandise, and keep shopping-cart advertisements, forms, and supplies stocked.
Assist with front-end decorations according to Store Support Center programs.
Call for cart pickups when necessary and inform management when returned merchandise needs to be put away.
Perform other duties as assigned.
