About The Position

The Cashier is responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise. This role involves projecting a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware, greeting customers, handling transactions efficiently, and maintaining the appearance of the front end. The position also requires assisting with stocking, pricing, and answering customer inquiries. Requirements

High School or GED equivalent.
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.

Nice To Haves

Cashier experience preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Process register transactions for sales and returns.
Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and thanking customers.
Maintain a friendly and outgoing demeanor.
Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly and courteously.
Communicate any issues requiring management assistance.
Build product knowledge and assist customers with store layout and product location.
Assist in pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging of merchandise.
Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
Balance the register drawer.
Implement Store Support Center programs and promotions at the registers.
Participate in store and Cashier meetings.
Keep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors, neat and clean.
Face and dust the front end.
Stock and face impulse counters, rotating fresh merchandise.
Ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts.
Ensure forms and supplies are stocked.
Assist with decorating the front end.
Call for cart pickups when necessary.
Inform management when merchandise returns need to be put away.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
