About The Position

Performs cashier duties, takes phone orders, restocks shelves, creates balloon bouquets, and wraps packages. This role involves recording transactions, handling paperwork for the accounting department, performing inventory counts, unpacking shipments, making deliveries, and preparing orders for shipment. The cashier also conducts over-the-counter sales, assists the manager with housekeeping and stockroom maintenance, balances the cash register at the end of each shift, and reports any discrepancies immediately. In the absence of the manager, the cashier is responsible for maintaining store operations. The role requires legible handwriting and effective communication to channel information to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Moderate to advanced computer and data entry skills.
  • All age groups are served.
  • Personnel Not Covered by the Standard: Jobs in which required tasks involve no greater exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, would be encountered by a visitor. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues and the worker can decline to perform tasks, which involve a perceived risk without retribution.
  • Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean.
  • Completes annual educational requirements.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Wears identification badge while on duty.
  • Attends annual review and department in-services as scheduled.
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility as well as the focus statement of the department.
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and functions well under stressful situations.
  • Answers telephone and greet all patients and family members in a polite and tactful manner.
