The Cashier receives and disburses money by selling food to students and staff. Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or vocational training.
• Knowledge of arithmetic sufficient to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Receive payments by cash, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, and change.
• Assist with preparing and packaging food items, ensuring appropriate food temperatures and portion sizes.
• Stock and rotate food items displayed on the serving line.
• Keep checkout areas clean and orderly and perform general cleaning, including cleaning the serving area and storing unused food.
• Stock shelves and mark prices.
• Answer customer questions and provide information about procedures or policies.
• Assist customers by providing information and resolving complaints.
• Process returns and exchanges.
• Identify prices and calculate bills using cash registers or optical price scanners.
• Balance sales against money received.
• Complete reports.
