About The Position

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Cashier to join their World-Class Team. This role is responsible for processing member purchases courteously and efficiently, including handling memberships, scanning merchandise, and accepting payments. The Cashier will provide excellent member service, maintain the cleanliness of the front-line department, and uphold club policies and procedures. Team members are expected to work with honesty, integrity, and a focus on member satisfaction, while contributing to a safe, positive, and inclusive environment. The role requires speed, agility, innovation, and a friendly attitude. Members are expected to deliver service excellence, resolve concerns, and ensure a positive experience, adhering to GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate; Fast, Friendly, Full, Fresh, Clean). Club Standards involve teamwork to maintain a grand opening look daily, ensuring all items are stocked, promotions are executed, signage is accurate, and the area is clean and organized. Understanding departmental performance reporting and the impact of consistent execution on the business is also key.

Requirements

• Basic math skills preferred.
• Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.

• Verifies, renews, upgrades, and offers several types of membership products.
• Scans merchandise and accepts various forms of payments.

• Ensures all items are stocked and promotional plans are executed.
• Maintains visible accurate signage.
• Keeps the area clean and organized, inside, and out.
• Understands how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department.
• Sees the connection between consistent execution and the positive impact it can have on the business.
• Exhibits clear understanding of all BJ’s Membership options, including the importance of renewals and upgrading to BJ’s Loyalty programs.
• Offers all appropriate membership products such as membership renewal, EASY renewal option, BJ’s Loyalty programs and Rewards redemption.
• Checks Members out in a timely and efficient manner.
• Fills shopping carts when necessary and assists at self-checkout stations.
• Issues receipts or change due to Members.
• Stays up to date on all merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information.
• Discounts purchases by scanning and redeeming coupons.
• Assists in general club housekeeping when necessary.
• Returns re-sellable merchandise to the sales floor area.
• Manages self-checkout and scan and pan lanes.
• Assists Members with operations and technical difficulties.
• Meets cashier productivity expectations.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
