About The Position

Rockingham Cooperative is seeking a part-time Cashier to join their team at the Elkton Farm location in Elkton, VA. This position is responsible for providing superior customer service, operating the cash register, and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner. Rockingham Cooperative has been serving its customers since 1921 and is looking for dedicated individuals to help exceed customer expectations.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
At least two years of experience.
Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills.
Proven ability to interact well with others and offer great customer service.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to perform climbing, stooping, bending, and crawling frequently.
Understand basic computer programs and learn systems.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge all customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide prompt service to all customers.
Operate cash register and point of sale system.
Handle customer complaints.
Answer telephones.
Keep sales area stocked with merchandise, including pricing, dating, and displaying items.
Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the register area.
Assist in other areas such as stocking, loading, and unloading merchandise, and keeping areas neat, clean, and orderly.
Attend store meetings and training sessions.
Gain new product knowledge through reading trade magazines and manufacturers literature.
Perform other duties as assigned.
