About The Position

As a Front-End Team Member, the Cashier creates a smooth, positive checkout experience by completing purchases accurately and interacting with customers in a friendly, efficient manner. Duties include scanning items, bagging groceries, answering questions, and helping ensure customers finish their visit on a positive note.

The role also involves keeping the front end organized, clean, and operating consistently. Cashiers rotate among handling transactions, collecting carts, restocking supplies, and maintaining the checkout area in an active, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old, or at least 18 depending on local or state requirements.
• Complete company cashier or front-end training upon hire.
• Basic math and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfort standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working indoors and outdoors as needed.

• Prior customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process customer purchases accurately, including cash, card, and digital payments.
• Scan items, verify pricing and produce codes, and complete orders accurately.
• Provide friendly customer assistance and answer checkout-related questions.
• Bag groceries and help customers complete their purchases.
• Collect carts, restock supplies, and maintain an organized and clean checkout area.
• Handle cash, count change, and balance registers.
• Follow company policies, register procedures, and checkout processes.
• Adapt to changing tasks and customer flow throughout the shift.
