Part-Time Cashier
About The Position
Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers is hiring a part-time Retail Associate – Cashier for its Eufaula, Alabama retail store. The cashier helps customers have a positive shopping experience by welcoming them, processing transactions accurately, and asking them to round up their purchase to support the organization’s mission or scholarship programs. Team members are cross-trained and expected to learn and work in all areas of the retail operation. The part-time position averages 20–25 hours per week, with hours fluctuating according to business needs. The employee must be available to work any shift Monday through Sunday.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Basic math skills.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a retail or customer service-related environment.
- Cash handling experience.
- Warehouse experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service to each guest.
- Assist customers with purchases and pricing.
- Operate the cash register and use basic math, including addition and subtraction of money.
- Understand item pricing and the “color of the week.”
- Maintain the appearance of the sales floor and dressing room by organizing shelves, putting away carts, and returning merchandise to the sales floor.
- Ask customers to round up their totals in support of the organization’s mission and/or scholarship programs.
- Meet or exceed daily retail store goals.
- Work in other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.
- Learn and work in all areas of the retail operation through cross-training.
